Bishop Elect Victor A. Trevino’s Biography & Church History

Bishop Elect Trevino was born and raised in the Apostolic Assembly of the Faith in Christ Jesus and was baptized in Jesus name in June of 1984 under the pastorship of Pastor Aaron Martinez.  A few months later he received the Holy Ghost with the help of Bishop Israel Anaya.  It was at the tender age of 13 that he started his ministry starting out as the youth president for his local church and at age 16 serving as Sunday School Superintendent.  Pastor Trevino started preaching at his youth functions and gatherings sometimes preaching more than an hour and a half. It was at that time that he felt the calling to follow in his father’s footsteps as a preacher.  He was then elevated to the District youth board as secretary and later went on to become District Youth president for a few terms and served as director of the annual District Youth Camps.  Pastor Trevino was the youngest within the Great Lakes District and his organization to be set aside for ministry at the age of 17.  On June 27, 1991, at the age of 19, Pastor Trevino became an ordained minister.

On July 27th of that same year he married the love of his life, 1st Lady Elizabeth Trevino.  From that union they welcomed their daughter, Victoria Elizabeth Trevino, their son Hezekiah Caleb Trevino and their son Victor Albert Trevino, II.

It was in 1997 that Pastor Trevino and 1st Lady Trevino accepted the call of God to pastor.  Pastor Trevino took over the pastorship from his father Elder Alvino Trevino.   They went on to pastor Apostolic Impact Ministries for 6 years.  At the age of 28 he became District Elder for Sector 2 overseeing 7 churches.  Then in 2003 Pastor Trevino took over the pastorship of Lighthouse Apostolic Church in Battle Creek.  He only pastored in Battle Creek for a year before making the transition over to The Bread House Main Campus within the PCAF. It is at the Bread House under the leadership of Pastor Emeritus Bishop Alfred Singleton and Bishop Alfred P. Singleton that he began The Bread House Spanish/Bilingual Ministry on June 27, 2004.   They remained at the main campus for 9 years holding services in the chapel.  That is when Pastor and 1st Lady Trevino and congregation stepped out in faith and were blessed to purchase this wonderful property and building on May 30, 2013.  June 1, 2013 we began renovations and held our very first service as what is now known as The Bread House South on September 8, 2013 followed by church dedication on December 1, 2013.   What started back in 2004 as a Spanish/bilingual ministry has now grown into a multicultural church heavily involved in community outreach through ministry at the Advent House,  S.T.O.R.M. Ministry, Lunch in the Park and weekly Lunch Kitchen where we feed the less fortunate.  Pastor believes in our Lunch Kitchen so much that in June of this year he set out to walk 10 miles a day for 5 days to help raise funds for this purpose.  He completed the 50 miles and raised almost $2000!  BHS had also started a Cinco de Mayo Community event back in 2006 where we fed the community for free.  This became known as one of Lansing’s biggest Cinco de Mayo events.  It was through this event that on May 6, 2012 Mayor Virg Benero declared May 6th as Pastor Victor A. Trevino Day. But the biggest thing has been our weekly Monday night prayer! We even had prayer outside the church and had our local news WLNS News 6 show up and do a story on our prayer.  That has been the furnace of the church and the key to growth!

Bishop Elect Trevino has been hard at work for the Lord.  It is under his ministry and the help and vision of Bishop Alfred Singleton and Bishop Alfred P. Singleton that we now have 13 churches that have been started and/or have joined The Bread House International Ministries.  We have 7 churches in Michigan and 6 in Texas.  This includes The Bread House Holland and The Bread House Edna.  Pastor Trevino has also had the honor of being on The Word Network for 2 spring Revivals, the Lexi Show and with Bishop George Bloomer as well ministering to millions of people worldwide.  He even snuck in – in Spanish the need to be baptized in Jesus name and needing the Holy Ghost!

We thank God for our pastor and 1st Lady but we also want to thank their children who work so hard in ministry alongside of their parents.  Victoria serves as the director of Kindle Kids children’s ministry, is part of the praise team and Revived Mime Ministry.  Hezekiah serves as the Director of Music & Media.  He is a local minister and is an avid guitar player and song writer.  He teaches on occasion for our Ablaze youth Bible Study class and preaches when needed.   Victor, aka JR aka Little Bishop, is normally all over the place…he heads the BHS mobile app, website, FB  page, communications department, Student Pastor of Youth/Children’s Ministry, Head of the Nurses Guild & BHS Sound Team, he is one of the church’s drummers, Elder, preacher, teacher and all around helper.

A family that have a true love for God and God’s people.   To some of us they are known as Pastor Victor Trevino and 1st Lady Elizabeth Trevino, to others they are known as our family and friends and to our young people they are known as spiritual mom and dad.  We love you for all that you do…thank you for the consistent love, support and Godly leadership.

ABLAZE STUDENT MINISTRIES OF THE BREAD HOUSE SOUTH

Our Story

Student Pastor’s – Elder Victor JR & Jessica Trevino
November.2016

Hello and welcome to The Bread House South.
We are Ablaze Student Ministries, a group of young people, children learning about the true gospel and salvation in Jesus Christ.
Ablaze Student Ministries consist of 3 Ministries combined!
Ablaze Youth (12 & Up) , Kindle Kids (4 to 11), Little Embers (Newborn to 3)
One of our goals is to impact the community of young people in sharing the word of God by doing everything we C.A.N. (CASTING A NET)

Our mission is to enable young people to understand and recognize who Jesus really is, and what it is to live for Jesus only & to Ignite a fire inside of them to carry on the torch to save other young people

We plan to inspire, plant seeds, and equip our youth so they will have the opportunity to be tomorrows strong Christians leaders; by teaching them with appropriate bible based lessons, and also with our own life lessons and lining them up with the word of God.

Ablaze Student Ministries has many activities throughout the year. To name a few of our activities every Wednesday is Ablaze Bible Study!. It’s filled with group games, laughter & of course a lesson and is lead by our own youth under the Direction of our Student Pastor, Elder Victor Trevino JR & his amazing staff.

We have youth lock-in’s, revivals, movie nights, bond fires, youth camp & MORE! We would love to extend an invite to you to come on out and visit! On behalf of our youth we thank you for taking the time to visit our group today; we pray that we will see you again. Thanks and God Bless you!

KINDLE KID’S of The Bread House South

TORI TREVINO – KIDLE KID’S DIRECTOR SINCE 2008

MISSION

Kindle Kids is an exciting and vital ministry in the church. It is a launching pad for nurturing the faith of the next generation. Kindle Kids serves as a place of prayer for children, a place where they hear foundational Bible stories, and a place where children learn simple Biblical truth statements.  We want to partner with and equip parents to raise a generation of children who: grow in Christ and spiritual maturity; Discover, develop, and use their gifts for the glory of God; pursue a God-centered vision of life; engage in worship, study, prayer, and ministry; and have a clear vision for godly manhood and womanhood.

If you have any questions about this, please contact Tori Trevino (tori@thebreadhousesouth.org)

Goals

Kindle Kids seeks to immerse children in God’s Word, teach them how to pray and worship, and support their families in their commitment to facilitate spiritual growth by:

  • Familiarize children with the whole Bible.
  • Encourage children to develop a biblical mindset and Christian worldview.
  • Encourage children to trust in the promises of God.
  • Lead children to recognize their sinful nature and to respond in repentance and faith in God.
  • Cultivate a love for God’s Word and a habit of reading it consistently.
  • Give children an opportunity to see the hand of God at work in the world.
